Biography
Jason L. Smith joined the UNLV faculty in the Fall of 2008. He received his Ph.D. in accounting from the University of Arizona and his B.S. and M.S. in accounting from Brigham Young University.
Dr. Smith's teaching interests are in Auditing, Fraud Examination, and Accounting Information Systems. He also has experience teaching Introductory Financial Accounting. His research interests center on auditors' and investors' judgment and decision making processes, fraud, internal control, and corporate governance issues.
He is an active member of the American Accounting Association (AAA), the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE). Dr. Smith is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
