Biography

James Kenyon is a visiting professor in the Department of Teaching and Learning. He holds a doctorate in education policy Studies from Florida State University. For the past seven years, he has served the Nevada Department of Education in the Office of Educator Effectiveness. He has earned degrees in special education, secondary education, and education leadership/administration. Prior to moving to Nevada, James was a researcher at the School Improvement Policy Center and the Public Policy Center in Tallahassee Florida. He is a former high school mathematics teacher, basketball coach, and school/district administrator. He joined the UNLV Faculty in 2015 and want to contribute his longevity with the state and the relationships developed over the years. He would like to see the College of Education grow and expand its programs into the rural school districts.

Alternative Route to Licensure (ARL), program evaluation, school improvement, alternative education, and the four-day school week
