James is an expert in civil engineering materials and construction processes, bringing over 20 years of industry experience to UES and Midnight Sun Consulting. A 4-time UNLV graduate, he holds a PhD, master’s, and bachelor’s in Civil Engineering, along with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. His expertise in construction methodologies, materials testing, and engineering business operations has made him a trusted industry leader. As the former owner of NOVA Geotechnical and Inspection Services, James played a key role in its national integration and strategic growth into the UES platform. In early 2024, he retired from UES, retaining a significant ownership stake, to focus on consulting, expert witness services, community investments, and leadership development. Beyond his daily professional work, James serves on the Board of Directors for NAIOP, American Concrete Institute, and Business First Nevada PAC. He is also actively involved in community organizations, including Green Our Planet, Los Vaqueros, and St. Jude’s Ranch for Children.
