Get To Know This Resident
Why did you choose the obstetrics and gynecology residency program at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV?
I chose UNLV OB-GYN because I saw firsthand the family-like relationship the residents had with each other; everyone supported each other and had respect for each other. The accessibility the residents had with the attendings was refreshing as compared with other specialities I had rotated through. All this still rings true today. My co-residents are some of my best friends, and I know my attendings are only a text or phone call away.
What are your interests within obstetrics and gynecology?
I don’t have any specific interest within OB-GYN. I chose this specialty because of the variety within the speciality. We are so fortunate to be able to take care and treat women from all walks of life and at all stages of life. I will forever be grateful to the women I’ve encountered for allowing me to be a part of their healthcare journey during my residency training.
What is your favorite thing to do in Las Vegas?
My favorite thing to do in Las Vegas is to eat at the many fine dining restaurant experiences that this wonderful city has to offer.
What is one fun fact about you?
I’ve been a Starbucks Gold Star member since 2010.
What is one piece of advice you would give to candidates interested in the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program?
Ask a lot of questions about each residency program you interview with. Don’t be shy during the meet-and-greet session or on the interview day. It is your chance to get to know the program as much as it is the program’s chance to get to know you.
