Biography
Gibran Chavez-Gudino is the Program Manager for UNR Extension & UNLV Partnerships. He seeks to foster faculty relationships, identify collaborative opportunities, and help faculty pursue funding for those initiatives. He leads the management of internal limited submission competitions, identifies and supports strategic grant development opportunities, and oversees outreach initiatives.
Chavez-Gudino has more than a decade of experience managing programs and strategic relationships in higher education. Before joining UNLV, he held positions as a research administrator and program manager for the Nevada System of Higher Education’s (NSHE) NASA Space Grant Consortium and NASA’s Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR), where he oversaw grant application and fiscal compliance processes. Prior to NSHE, Chavez-Gudino held positions as a placement specialist and program advisor at Harvard’s Latin American Scholarship Program of American Universities (LASPAU). While there, he worked with students and educational commissions from Latin America including Colombia’s COLCIENCIAS, Mexico’s COMEXUS & Fulbright-García Robles, Argentina’s Fulbright Commission, and Brazil’s CAPES & CNPq.
He earned a Masters of Theological Studies (MTS) from Harvard Divinity School in 2013 with an emphasis on systematics.
