Biography
Emily Whatley is a theatrical artist that yearns to create experiences that cannot be defined. She grew up on a small farm near Duke, Oklahoma. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre from Cameron University and is now pursuing her Master of Fine Arts degree in Scenic Design at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. Emily is constantly exploring new avenues of artistic expression. This curiosity has led to a career focused on scenic design, scenic painting, properties design, and sculpture. In 2019, she was awarded the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival’s Region 6 Student Choice Award for Design for her work in 4.48 Psychosis. While at UNLV she has had the opportunity to create the scenic designs for Mud, American La Ronde, and Violet. Emily’s portfolio can be seen on her website.
