Get To Know This Resident

Why did you choose the obstetrics and gynecology residency program at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV?
As a military applicant, I was interested in UNLV/Nellis Air Force Base for the civilian partnership so that I would be exposed to more patient and healthcare/systems diversity. I took interest in UNLV’s high obstetrics volume and our on-base experiences with gynecology.

What are your interests within obstetrics and gynecology?
I always thought I would want to go into a gynecology fellowship because I love gynecologic surgery, but I have been surprised by how much I really love all the obstetrics training and experience too. Overall, I love being in the operating room.

What is your favorite thing to do in Las Vegas?
I love all the fun places to eat, drink, and explore in Vegas, especially everything outdoors and the nearby national and state parks.

What is one fun fact about you?
I have the cutest cat named Minnie!

What is one piece of advice you would give to candidates interested in the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program?
Live it up before residency – travel far and often during your fourth year! Residency is hard, and it’s tough to find the time and energy to travel.
