Biography
Doug McLean is the assistant director for custodial services within the Facilities Management department. Doug's team of 120 custodians is responsible for cleaning 73 buildings and 2,717,233 square feet on the UNLV Maryland campus. The custodial team's primary goal is providing a clean, safe, and healthy learning and working environment for our students, faculty and staff. They also play a critical role in helping to prevent the spread of infectious disease, using CDC-approved disinfection protocols.
Doug's UNLV career spans over 17 years and followed a 26 year career in the US Air Force. His military career included 18 years as a master aircraft maintenance technician and quality assurance evaluator, followed by eight years as a master manpower and organization analyst. His analyst duties included working with command staff at all levels determining manpower requirements, organization structure changes, building new organizations from the ground up, and leading management advisory studies to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
