Biography
Dr. Deborah Greer Byers is the Assistant Director of the Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist program at UNLV School of Nursing.
She was born and raised in Chicago before relocating to Henderson, NV. She served in the U.S. Army and has over 20 years of experience in the field of anesthesia. She has applied her clinical expertise, commitment to excellence, and passion for education to the healthcare field and academia. She has taught as a Clinical Instructor and Associate Professor at Truman Medical Center School of Nurse Anesthesia. She has two daughters, who are both pharmacists, and two grandchildren.

Dr. Byers was a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, and has been a CRNA for more than 20 years.

She has taught courses in anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
Education Background
She received her Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice (DNAP) degree from Missouri State University in 2018 and a Master of Science in Nurse Anesthesia from Webster University (St. Louis, MO) in 2004. She also completed a Post Graduate Certification in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions in 2023. She is a dual-certified Nurse Anesthetist and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
