Deanne Moyle-Hicks, the 2022 Nevada Teacher of the Year, is a 30-year teaching veteran who holds a National Board Certification in literacy. She graduated from Eureka High, a rural school in central Nevada, and then earned a bachelor’s degree in education from the University Nevada, Las Vegas. While teaching in Elko, NV, she completed a master’s degree from Lesley University. Deanne has taught all grades K-6 and has spent the last five years at Natchez Elementary on the Pyramid Lake Paiute Reservation in Washoe County.
