Ms. Johnston received her bachelor of arts degree in social science studies as well as her master’s degree in social work from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.  She served in the U.S. Army and after an honorable discharge, went on to work as a Chief Financial Officer for various industries in Southern Nevada for twenty-plus years.  She is a Nationally Certified Guardian and works for Nathan Adelson Hospice. She is a member of the National Guardianship Association, American Society on Aging, National Association of Social Workers, Hospice and Palliative Care Social Workers, and Phi Kappa Phi.  She is interested in furthering research in the fields of the aging community as well as advocating for improved hospice and palliative care.
