Calista Robbins
Part-Time Instructor
Biography
Calista Robbins was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio where she danced competitively at Star Performance Centre. In 2013, Robbins visited Las Vegas for the first time and immediately became enamored with the bright lights and extravagant shows. Upon graduating high school, Robbins uprooted her midwestern life to pursue a life in entertainment and production at UNLV. There, through lighting design, video editing, and bouncing hypothetical concepts between peers, she rediscovered her love of storytelling. In the years since, she has worked Front of House at shows such as Blue Man Group, RUN by Cirque Du Soleil, and America’s Got Talent presents Superstars. Robbins has delved into lighting design with local companies and had a brief stint as a lighting technician with rhino staging, setting up, tearing down, and spot operating for concerts and festivals around the city. In the future, she plans to merge her love of writing with production and create large-scale, immersive theatrical experiences similar to the likes of Secret Cinema meets Cirque Du Soleil. Robbins seeks to create short dance films in the realm of LXD, where the story takes center stage, telling through movement what cannot be said in words alone.
