Biography
Originally from Fallbrook, CA, Brian Jones moved to Las Vegas in 2008, where he attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) to earn his bachelor of science degree with a major in Recreation and concentration in PGA Golf Management. During his time at UNLV, Jones served the industry through internships at TPC Summerlin in Las Vegas, City Golf in San Diego, and Tuscany Golf Club in Henderson, Nevada.
Upon completion of his studies at UNLV, Jones became the Head Golf Professional at Tuscany Golf Club. Jones was responsible for golf operations; merchandising; revenue management; and nineteen staff members. While serving as Head Golf Professional at Tuscany Golf Club, Jones enrolled in UNLV’s Harrah College of Hospitality Master of Science program. While pursuing his graduate degree, Jones was promoted to Assistant General Manager at Tuscany Golf Club. Upon graduation, Jones accepted the position of General Manager at Stallion Mountain Golf Club in Las Vegas. Two years later, Jones was recruited by Arcis Golf to be the General Manager at Las Vegas Golf Club.
In December of 2018, Jones was hired by UNLV to serve as the Assistant Director/Internship Coordinator for the UNLV PGA Golf Management Program. In his current role Jones is responsible for student internship placement and facility correspondence; teaching; academic advising; and management of campus golf shop operations. Jones is the instructor of record for the PGA concentration (PGM 201, 202, 301, 302) and internship course, and within the Hospitality Management core offering (HMD 395).
