Get To Know This Resident

Why did you choose the obstetrics and gynecology residency program at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV?
I am a Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine alumni. I chose UNLV OB-GYN because even as a medical student in my third- and fourth-year clinical rotations, I was impressed by the high volume and high-acuity patient experiences at our affiliated hospitals. This environment allowed me to see firsthand how working with a diverse patient population and managing complex cases could thoroughly prepare me to become a well-rounded and competent OB-GYN physician.

What are your interests within obstetrics and gynecology?
I love that OB-GYN is a multifaceted specialty that encompasses a broad spectrum of healthcare components. I am particularly interested in reproductive health, including abortion care, as I believe it is crucial to provide compassionate and comprehensive support that empowers women with the knowledge to navigate these decisions.

What is your favorite thing to do in Las Vegas?
My favorite thing to do in any city is eat! Las Vegas offers a wide variety of cuisines; I love trying new places to eat and exploring the culturally diverse food scene.

What is one fun fact about you?
I love singing and karaoke! I will always serenade you if you ask, and I will never say no to going to karaoke.

What is one piece of advice you would give to candidates interested in the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program?
Residency can feel hard, overwhelming, and exhausting, so keep in mind that it’s a marathon, not a sprint. Remember things outside of medicine that you love (family, friends, hobbies, favorite activities) to help you stay grounded and maintain your sanity!
