April Zangari is the Care Advocate Coordinator at the UNLV Jean Nidetch Care Center. She is a first-generation college graduate, having earned her Bachelor's of Science in Secondary Education from UNLV in 2022 and is currently pursuing her Master's of Education in Counseling from UNLV as well. April has embraced her love for working to support student wellness through trauma-informed, healing-centered work through her experience as an undergraduate Peer Mentor and in her professional role as an Academic Advisor, and now she is grateful to be putting it into practice here at the Care Center. She is deeply passionate about promoting holistic sexual wellness and equitable education through the lens of empowerment.

Outside of work, April is an avid reader and a foodie. She enjoys writing fiction and poetry, indulging in reality television, and hanging out with her fiancé and two dogs: Nova and Astro. Her mantra is: spread positivity, love, and validation to those around you like butter on toast.
