André C. Wade

State Director, Silver State Equality and Silver State Equality Institute

Biography

André C. Wade is the state director for Silver State Equality. In this role he leads legislative, fundraising, and political efforts in the state of Nevada. With a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in public administration with an emphasis on nonprofit management, both from UNLV, Wade has worked in human services for more than 20 years in public and nonprofit contexts, including at the National Alliance to End Homelessness as a program and policy analyst. Wade has served on several boards and committees focused on LGBTQ equality and inclusion, such as the Human Rights Campaigns (HRC) steering committee in Las Vegas, HRC’s All Children’s All Families program and Cyndi Lauper’s True Colors Fund. Wade is chair of Gov. Steve Sisolak's Advisory Task Force on HIV Exposure Modernization and a member of the advisory committee for the Nevada Office of Minority Health and Equity. The Advocate magazine named him a Champion of Pride, and Modern Luxury Las Vegas named him among the 15 Most Influential People. He has appeared on NBC's Today Show and has been published in the Las Vegas Review Journal, the Las Vegas Sun and Spectrum magazine, among others. A native of Las Vegas, Wade is a certified SMART Flow Yoga instructor who enjoys traveling, writing and reading.
