Biography
Dr. Amy Prescott (they/them) is a queer identified psychological assistant under the supervision of Dr. Erin Williams. Amy completed their B.A in Psychology from Texas A&M University (WHOOP!), followed by their M.S. and PsyD in Clinical Psychology from the University of La Verne in Southern California. They completed their doctoral internship here at UNLV CAPS with an emphasis in working with LGBTQ+ students. Amy’s approach to therapy is socially justice oriented and affirming with the primary use of feminist-multicultural theory, cognitive behavioral therapy and compassion focused therapy. Additionally, they believe that therapy is not one size fits all and desire to create a therapeutic environment that is specific to each individual. Amy’s clinical interests include the experiences of LGBTQ+ individuals, particularly those that identify as Trans and/or Gender Expansive and individuals with experiences of religious hurt or trauma. Outside of the therapy office, Amy can be found spending time with their dogs, cooking and attending musicals.
