Biography

Allison McNickle, MD, FACS, is an assistant professor at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV Department of Surgery and the section chief of trauma surgery.

Also the program director of the medical school’s acute care surgery fellowship, vice chief of trauma and chair of the Critical Care Committee at University Medical Center, Dr. McNickle is board-certified in general surgery and surgical critical care.

Dr. McNickle completed her undergraduate work at Johns Hopkins University before receiving her master of science degree in anatomy from Rush Graduate College and a medical doctorate from Rush Medical College.

Her graduate medical education residency specialization in general surgery was completed at the University of Illinois-Chicago at Mount Sinai prior to her fellowship training in acute care surgery at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV.

Dr. McNickle, an accomplished researcher, has a special interest in trauma resuscitation and the management of extremity injuries. In addition to her clinical practice, she actively trains others to care for trauma patients through Advanced Trauma Life Support, Disaster Management Emergency Preparedness and volunteers with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Search and Rescue Unit.
