Get To Know This Resident

Why did you choose the obstetrics and gynecology residency program at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV?
After growing up in the Pacific Northwest, I was very excited for a bit more sunshine in my life, and I knew I wanted to move to the Southwest. My UNLV pre-interview dinner was my favorite, and I could tell that all of the residents had really great relationships.

What are your interests within obstetrics and gynecology?
I applied to medical school knowing I wanted to be an OB-GYN and everything in medical school affirmed that desire. I love all things obstetrics, and in particular, I really love being a part of both vaginal and cesarean births.

What is your favorite thing to do in Las Vegas?
I love getting outside, and with the year-round sunshine, I am able to be really active all year. One of my favorite things to do is paddle board along the Colorado River near Emerald Cove, and in the cooler months, I paddleboard or hike into the natural hot springs along the river.

What is one fun fact about you?
I grew up in a small town called Boring, Oregon.

What is one piece of advice you would give to candidates interested in the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program?
Follow your gut and go where you felt most comfortable during your pre-interview and interview experiences.
