Get To Know This Resident

Why did you choose the obstetrics and gynecology residency program at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV?
I knew I wanted to move to the West Coast as my husband was military and stationed here. When I did my sub-internship at UNLV, I was drawn to how close the residents were with each other. They seemed to genuinely care about and support each other. I also admired how competent they were in managing complex cases while maintaining compassion for their patients.

What are your interests within obstetrics and gynecology?
The main thing that drew me to OB-GYN in medical school was the variety and that still has not changed. My main interests include obstetrics care, gynecologic surgery, and family planning.

What is your favorite thing to do in Las Vegas?
I love exploring new restaurants in town! The food scene in Vegas is amazing, on and off the Strip.

What is one fun fact about you?
I did a study abroad in New Zealand and was able to visit “The Lord of the Rings” filming sites, swim with wild dolphins, and bungee jump over a river while there.
