Overview

The Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) and the Academic Effectiveness, Surveys & Data team have collaborated to create the Research Exchange Program (REP). Qualified candidates will have an opportunity to participate in an immersive program to develop practical research skills in an innovative, professional environment to assist in the development of survey infrastructure.

Eligibility & Consideration

UNLV undergraduate students who have participated in OUR programs and services, including, but not limited to the OUR Annual Undergraduate Research Symposium.

Students must be enrolled in classes during the semester of application and will have the opportunity to join the Academic Effectiveness, Surveys & Data team in a for-credit internship capacity or through the Federal Work Study (FWS) program, if applicable.

Areas/positions to participate in with the Surveys & Data team include:

  • Internal Operations
    • Campus-wide survey resources/services
  • Sponsored Research Operations
    • Research funding opportunities and collaborations
  • Outreach Operations
    • Marketing, social media engagement, survey best practices workshops
  • Community-Facing Operations
    • Specialized survey resources/services

Program Requirements

The ideal candidate for the Research Exchange Program is an enrolled undergraduate student who has participated in and completed various OUR programs and services. Candidates should have a background/interest in social sciences/higher education research, survey methodology, and/or data analysis. Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as a desire to learn, are preferred.

This is a unique opportunity for candidates seeking a for-credit internship or are eligible for Federal Work Study. Opportunities exist for professional development, enhanced data literacy skills, survey research skills, and team building.
