UNLV Nursing Hosts Fall Festival and Nurse Unseen Screening Nov. 7

UNLV School of Nursing is hosting a community-wide fall festival on November 7 at 3 p.m. at the Clinical Simulation Center of Las Vegas, 1001 Shadow Lane. The school welcomes prospective students and families to learn more about its programs, while connecting the community with valuable resources. There will be food trucks, lawn games, music, and fun for the whole family to enjoy. Blood donations through Vitalant will be available on-site, and reservations to donate may be made online here. The School is holding a canned food drive to benefit UNLV’s Food Pantry. The community is encouraged to bring canned food items to support those in need in the UNLV community during the holiday season.

Additionally, the school is hosting a free screening of the award-winning documentary, Nurse Unseen. The film highlights the little-known history and humanity of Filipino nurses who risked their lives on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion featuring local health professionals and the filmmaker Michele Josue. Tickets may be reserved here

The events are free and open to the public.
