Some Old Books and Their Stories: A Show and Tell Oct. 16

Old books tell stories that would be lost if not for the existence of the material artifact. Those stories are told by way of a book’s provenance, that is, its recorded history of ownership; documented readership; or sometimes through author inscriptions, or marginalia.

Make plans to join the University Libraries Special Collections and Archives and our guest speaker, Beverly Rogers, for "Some Old Books and Their Stories: A Show and Tell" on Wednesday, Oct. 16 at 4 p.m. in the Goldfield Room at Lied Library

Rogers will talk about connections among authors and historical figures that come to light by means of the physical book, highlighting books from her rare books collection.

We’ll also look at a niche collection of female-authored novels with their own tales to tell.

Light refreshments will be provided. Registration requested.
