Retirement Announcement: Kevin Raschko

After an extraordinary career spanning over 30 years at UNLV, Facilities Management’s Kevin Raschko will retire on Jan. 2, 2025.

Raschko began his journey at UNLV as a student worker on the Maryland Campus over three decades ago while earning his Bachelor of Arts degree, which he proudly received in 1995. His career exemplifies the opportunities for growth and advancement within the Facilities Management (FM) team. From his early roles as a maintenance repair specialist in the paint and carpenter shops to becoming a craft worker in training (CWIT), and later rising to paint shop supervisor in 2000, Raschko has shown dedication, hard work, and talent every step of the way.

In 2004, he was promoted to assistant director on the Maryland Campus, managing structural shops before transitioning to lead operations at the Shadow Lane Campus in 2014, where his leadership and advocacy have left an indelible mark.

Raschko has been instrumental in expanding UNLV’s presence in the Las Vegas Medical District, supporting the university’s mission to serve the community’s healthcare needs. Under his guidance, the facilities at the UNLV School of Dental Medicine have provided a safe, healthy, and welcoming environment for countless students, staff, and visitors.

This legacy of service is a Raschko family tradition. Raschko's father, Les, served UNLV as news and publications director starting in 1980 and later built and managed the Reprographics program until his retirement in 2008. Raschko's brother, Kurt, continues to dedicate himself to the university with over 27 years of service in the Division of Integrated Marketing and Branding. Together, the Raschko family has profoundly impacted the UNLV community.

Raschko's influence extends beyond his many accomplishments. He has been an invaluable member of the FM leadership team, providing insightful counsel and advocating for his colleagues. His guidance has directly shaped initiatives including the reinstatement of the FM CWIT program, which has already begun to create new opportunities for future FM team members.

Raschko's dedication, expertise, and leadership will be deeply missed, but his contributions to UNLV will endure as a testament to his remarkable career. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to him for his service and wish him the very best as he begins this exciting new chapter.
