Mental Health in Film: Getting it Right - Screening of INSIDE OUT 2 & Panel Discussion Nov. 21

Please join UNLV Film and UNLV PRACTICE for a screening and panel discussion of Disney-Pixar's INSIDE OUT 2 on Thursday, Nov. 21 in FDH 109.

  • 6 p.m. reception with light refreshments
  • 6:30 screening
  • 8:15 p.m. panel discussion with professors Brett Levner and Kynan Dias (Film) and Stephen Benning and Madeline Clark (Psychology). The panel will be moderated by professor Adam Paul (Film).

This event explores the significance of mental health representation in cinema. Following a free screening of Disney-Pixar's INSIDE OUT 2 (2024; dir. Kelsey Mann), a panel of filmmakers and mental health professionals will discuss the power of storytelling in promoting mental health awareness.

Topics include authenticity in the depiction of mental health, exploring the potential impact these narratives can have on reducing stigma and fostering a deeper understanding of emotional well-being.
