May 2024 Rebel Accessibility Heroes

For May 2024, the UNLV offices of educational compliance and accessibility resources recognize three UNLV colleagues from the Lied Libraries as our Rebel Accessibility Heroes. Cory Tucker (Head, Collections, Interlibrary Loan & Acquisitions) Jason Vaughan (Director, Library Technologies) and Jonathan Sturak (Head, Library Systems), each and collectively facilitated the procurement processes with the Office of Accessibility Resources for the UNLV Lied Libraries.

Since 2021, Tucker, Vaughan, and Sturak each worked with OAR to move their respective ICT (information and communications technology) requests through the developing vetting processes put in place with the passage of January 2020 UNLV policy. Tucker was an early partner in working on our processes and approval workflows. Sturak and Vaughan tag-teamed their ICT process requests, working closely with their vendors to secure any and all accessibility documents proactively. Their partnership with the processes ensured that accessibility considerations were and are key for each software, database, portals and application acquisition and subscription. Their curation of crucial accessibility documents on behalf of their respective groups ensured that requests were processed as timely as possible.

Please join us on this 2024 Global Accessibility Awareness Day as we recognize these colleagues as our Rebel Accessibility Heroes for May 2024.
