LastPass Service Changes Coming July 31

Changes are coming to the university’s password manager service. After July 31, 2025, UNLV will no longer provide LastPass as its official password manager. This decision follows a routine review that showed low usage of the service.

What Users Can Expect

  • Most users: They won’t be impacted by this service change. No action is needed on their part.
  • University LastPass users: Students and employees who have a LastPass account through UNLV will receive a series of communications on how to prepare for this service change.

Password managers are one of the best ways to securely store and manage strong, unique passwords in one convenient location. Students and employees are encouraged to continue using the tool that works for them, whether that’s LastPass or another password manager.

Anyone who didn’t receive a notification but believes they’re affected by this change can contact the IT Help Desk for assistance. More details can also be found on the LastPass Service Changes initiative page.
