For July 2024, the UNLV offices of educational compliance and accessibility resources recognizes Guadalupe Negrete, with The Dr. William W. Sullivan Center for Academic Enrichment and Outreach (CAEO), as our Rebel Accessibility Hero.
 
As CAEO's Digital Content Developer, Negrete joined a CAEO team that had already been working with the Office of Accessibility Resources (OAR) and Purchasing and Contracts on its various information and communications technology procurements. Negrete soon took on the routine, engaging OAR in various emails and virtual meetings to refine her understanding of the options and paperwork around UNLV accessibility procurements.

Her facility, with the processes, has significantly shortened the turnaround of tech requisitions for CAEO. To ensure that CAEO digital documents and communications are produced as accessibly as possible, Negrete completed OAR document accessibility trainings and has continued to work with the Accessibility Resources Team to apply these skills.
