Exploring AAPI Experiences and Interconnections: Society, Nevada, and Education Webinar August 29

The College of Education invites faculty and staff to attend "Exploring AAPI Experiences and Interconnections: Society, Nevada, and Education," a webinar on August 29, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.The webinar, presented by Julie Pham,  will offer educators valuable insights into Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) histories and lived experiences.

Learn why understanding AAPI history is crucial for a more inclusive and accurate portrayal of our nation's past, present, and future. Exploring the experiences of AAPI communities is crucial for enriching curriculum and fostering inclusive learning environments. By delving into the diverse range of AAPI experiences that are often omitted from textbooks, educators can expand their curriculum and cultural awareness. This webinar encourages critical examination of American history, challenging monolithic views, and promoting cultural sensitivity. Participating educators will gain tools to integrate AAPI perspectives into lessons, support AAPI students more effectively, and develop a strong sense of connection to the AAPI population.
