Candlelight Vigil to Honor and Commemorate Victims of Oct. 7 Terrorist Attacks

A candlelight vigil will be held at 6 p.m. on Oct. 8 in the Moyer Amphitheater (in the courtyard behind the Student Union). This vigil will honor the memory of over 1,200 murdered and in honor of hundreds others harmed physically and psychologically by the terrorist attacks of October 7-8, 2023.

These victims were of many nationalities, ethnicities and races, and religious affiliations; the vigil is non-denominational and apolitical; it will be an expression of empathy and common humanity. This vigil is a collaboration of 8 RSOs (Hillel, Chabad, AEPi, Mishelanu, Students Standing with Israel, Stand With Us/Campus, Las Vegas Jewish Experience and the American Jewish Medical Student Association) as well as the UNLV Jewish Faculty and Staff affinity group, with support from the Jewish Federation of Nevada.
