The UNLV Teaching & Learning Commons (TLC) invites applications for the position of faculty director. The TLC is dedicated to creating a vibrant and supportive educational ecosystem that empowers students, faculty, and staff to achieve their lifelong potential. The faculty director serves as a strategy partner and operational leader of the TLC, guiding its mission to foster relational connections among learners and educators, promote supportive teaching, and elevate the value of teaching practice across the university. This position requires a visionary leader and accomplished instructor who can collaborate with diverse stakeholders, design impactful initiatives, and ensure the continuous growth and success of the TLC in supporting UNLV’s educational mission. The Faculty Director plays a pivotal role in translating the TLC's vision and mission into actionable strategies that enhance teaching, learning, and inclusivity across the university.
Roles and Responsibilities of the Faculty Director, Teaching & Learning Commons
Term: 2 years contingent on leadership excellence, and extendable to 3 years upon request and review of performance
Minimum Requirements:
- Tenure-track and non-tenure track academic faculty at associate rank or higher
- 1 year minimum at UNLV
- A successful record of college-level instruction and innovation
Position Start Date: As soon as possible and negotiable upon hire
