Aundrea Frahm joins UNLV as Director of Immersive Learning

Aundrea Frahm will join UNLV and the University Libraries as the inaugural director of immersive learning starting on Oct. 21.

“I’m delighted to welcome Aundrea Frahm to UNLV. Her skills as an innovator, collaborator, and administrator will help propel our immersive learning efforts to new heights,” said UNLV President Keith E. Whitfield. “And the time is now. Our students have grown up in a tech-forward world, and they’re preparing to enter a workforce that demands innovation. Immersive learning sparks students’ intellectual curiosity and shows them how to apply theoretical knowledge in tangible ways that will help them thrive here at UNLV and beyond.”

Frahm is the founding director of the VR/AR Classroom and Innovation Studio at Southern Utah University, and was co-author of a nearly $1 million grant awarded by the Utah System of Higher Education to successfully establish the VR/AR initiatives campus-wide.

She brings nearly a decade of collegiate teaching experience, including her initial appointment at SUU, and having served as an Assistant Professor in Fine Arts and a sculpture instructor at UNLV. These experiences will enable her to effectively collaborate with faculty in creating teaching modules and course assignments.

Frahm holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Master of Fine Art. In her new role, she will oversee daily operations of the Dreamscape Learn Classroom, as well as establish a culture of VR/AR innovation for students, faculty, and staff at UNLV.
