Academic Faculty Required to Use Okta Verify MFA by Oct. 1

Starting Oct. 1, academic faculty will need to use Okta Verify to log into campus applications with their ACE account, instead of SMS text messaging. Switch to Okta Verify now with these easy enrollment steps to avoid delays in accessing services.

With Okta Verify’s enhanced security features and one-tap push notifications, the multifactor authentication (MFA) experience is faster and more secure than SMS text messaging, which is no longer available as an MFA option due to security concerns.

Academic faculty already using Okta Verify or another secure MFA option don’t have to change their MFA. If Okta Verify isn’t the best option for those who need to switch, contact the IT Help Desk for alternative MFA options.
