Come celebrate Valentine's Day at UNLV with a performance by Southern Nevada's own Yucca Mountain Boys.
Junior Hot Cell and the Yucca Mountain Boys will treat you to an evening of high-energy, acoustic music rooted in the bluegrass and Celtic traditions. In addition to performing, the musicians will discuss the history of the music they play and will answer questions from the audience.
Part of the University Forum lecture series, the event is free and open to the public. It is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Feb. 14 in the auditorium of the Marjorie Barrick Museum of Natural History. Junior Hot Cell and the Yucca Mountain Boys recently released their first CD, titled "Sundance." The band will play original material from that recording.
Members of the band play acoustic guitar, mandolin, bouzouki, banjo, bass, accordion, hand drums, and other percussion instruments. Members of the band are George Rhee, Keith Roberson, Marty Warburton, and Tom Flagg, all of whom are Southern Nevada residents.
The University Forum lecture series is sponsored by the College of Liberal Arts and underwritten by the UNLV Foundation.
