The UNLV Forensics Program and the Greenspun School of Communication will present the first annual "War of Words," a debate that will showcase the skills of four members of the 1995-96 debate team, on May 2 at 7:30 p.m. in the Moyer Student Union, Room 201.
Senior Steve Robertson and sophomore Michelle Matlock will debate against junior Tony King and freshman Rick Kimbrough.
The debate will focus on the United States' Middle East policy, which is this year's intercollegiate debate topic. Specifically, the debaters will argue whether the United States should deploy a peace-keeping force in the Golan Heights to enforce a peace treaty between Israel and Syria.
The event is free and open to the public. For more information, call Joel Lauer, UNLV debate and forensics assistant, at 895-1749.
