Upcoming University Forum lectures at UNLV will focus on the practice of Feng Shui and the influence of human nature on our country's laws.
On Feb. 18, Feng Shui consultant Mary Swick will present "Decorating Your House the Feng Shui Way."
During this slide-illustrated lecture, Swick will examine the historical foundations of Feng Shui in Chinese and Buddhist philosophy and demonstrate the dynamic principles of this ancient oriental practice.
On Feb. 24, Steve Johnson, professor in UNLV's William S. Boyd School of Law, will present "Seeing Ourselves Through the Mirror of Law: Views of Human Nature Reflected in American Law."
During the lecture, Johnson will explore how human nature is reflected in our country's current laws and how the influence of human behavior on legislation has changed over time.
Both lectures will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium of the Marjorie Barrick Museum of Natural History. All University Forum lectures are free and open to the public. No reservations are required.
The University Forum lecture series is sponsored by UNLV's College of Liberal Arts and is underwritten by The Jerry Kalafatis Lodge Charitable Foundation and the UNLV Foundation.
