More than 400 graduates are expected to take part in UNLV's first Winter Commencement at 11 a.m. Saturday (Dec. 19).
The ceremony will take place at the Earl E. Wilson Baseball Stadium on the UNLV campus. In the case of inclement weather, it will be moved inside the Artemus W. Ham Concert Hall. If bad weather threatens, updated information on the ceremony location will be available beginning Friday afternoon from the commencement hotline, 895-3229.
As part of the ceremony, two honorary doctoral degrees will be awarded. Barbara Greenspun, publisher of the Las Vegas Sun, will receive an honorary doctor of humane letters degree. Receiving an honorary doctor of laws degree will be Gov. Bob Miller.
