The Jean Nidetch Women's Center at UNLV will host its 11th annual "Take Back the Night" event on Oct. 6 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The event, to be held in the UNLV Pida Plaza, plans to honor victims of domestic, sexual, and gender violence. Further, it provides an opportunity for participants to speak out against violence, remember victims, and support survivors with the aim of making the UNLV campus and the Las Vegas community a safer place.

Planned activities include a candlelight vigil, an interactive exhibit on abuse, and a Victim Memorial Rededication ceremony by the Southern Nevada Domestic Violence Task Force.
