Approximately 764 students are expected to participate in UNLV's Winter Commencement ceremony on Dec. 17.
The event, which is open to the public, will take place at 3 p.m. at the Thomas & Mack Center.
U.S. Sen. Richard H. Bryan, who is retiring from the Senate, and his wife, former Nevada First Lady Bonnie F. Bryan, are among those who will be honored at commencement. Richard Bryan will be awarded the honorary doctor of laws degree, and Bonnie Bryan will receive the President's Medal.
Nevada First Lady Dema L. Guinn and UNR President Joseph N. Crowley, who is preparing to retire, also will be presented with the President's Medal.
This will be the third year the university has conducted a Winter Commencement. Graduates participating in the ceremony will be those who earned their degrees in August or December.
A reception will be held on the concourse of the Thomas & Mack Center following the ceremony.
