UNLV offers a host of events to welcome new and returning Rebels to campus each fall, including a new student BBQ, the annual Premier event, the home football opener and the president's State of the University speech.
Before classes begin Aug. 25, new students will kick-off their college career during the Rebel Welcome Day event Aug. 22.
Media interested in attending the events are asked to coordinate with the UNLV Office of Media Relations.

Residence Hall Move-In
Close to 1,700 students are moving to campus and into the residence halls. Freshmen move in Aug. 20 and returning students move in Aug. 22. All dorms are expected to be full.
When: 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., on Wed., Aug. 20, and Fri., Aug. 22
Where: Dayton Complex Residence Hall, South Complex, Upper Class Complex and Tonopah Hall

Rebel Welcome Day/UNLV Creates
Rebel Welcome Day includes the second annual "UNLV Creates," a program for new students to network with each other, advisors and faculty in their respective college majors. It includes an academic convocation program to get students energized about their college career and a pledge to graduate from UNLV. UNLV faculty members will provide motivational speeches on academic and research opportunities available at UNLV. More info on the UNLV Creates page.

President's BBQ for new students
UNLV President Donald Snyder will host a BBQ for new students and their families.
When: 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m., Fri., Aug. 22
Where: Alumni Amphitheater near UNLV Student Union Courtyard.

UNLV Fall Semester Begins
Throughout the day, UNLV staff will run "ask me" booths to answer student questions. The booths will be located at the Student Union, Pida Plaza, the Student Recreation and Wellness Center, and Lied Library.

"Premier UNLV"
An annual tradition featuring fireworks and the formation of a giant illuminated "UNLV" created by hundreds of UNLV students and alumni with flashlights.

Students can learn about and meet representatives from 250 student organizations.

Join UNLV head football coach Bobby Hauck and the Rebel football team for the first home game of the season.
