The UNLV Symphony Orchestra will perform its Third Annual Halloween Concert at 7 p.m. Oct. 31 in the Artemus W. Ham Concert Hall on the UNLV campus. The one hour and 15-minute concert has been planned to allow plenty of time for trick-or-treating.
Special guests for this concert, making a return engagement, will be members of the UNLV dance department. The evening's program will encompass some of the all-time Halloween favorites such as "Danse Macabre" by Camille Saint-Saens, Berceuse and Finale from "The Firebird" by Igor Stravinsky, and the Nevada premiere of an exciting work by Michael Daugherty, "Hell's Angels," which features a bassoon quartet with orchestra.
Prizes will be awarded for best costumes for both kids and adults. Tickets are $3 general admission, $5 per family of two adults and up to four kids, and are available at the Performing Arts Center Box Office or by calling 895-ARTS (2787). In costume, at the door, tickets are only $1 per person.
