UNLV's Rebel Recycling Program will hold its Spring Yard Sale Extravaganza on April 29 and 30 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. The sale will feature items donated by students who have recently moved out of the campus residence halls.
"We have so many clothes, shoes, linens, books, dishes, office supplies, and toys that it's overwhelming," said Tara Pike, UNLV solid waste and recycling manager. "All items for sale are reasonably priced and you never know what you will find here."
All proceeds from the sale will support the Rebel Recycling Program's efforts to divert large amounts of UNLV's waste stream to recycling and reuse and to help fund student workers from UNLV's work study program.
UNLV hotel administration students are managing the sale as part of their coursework for a facilities management course.
The Rebel Recycling Program is located on the southeast corner of Flamingo Road and Swenson Street behind the three solar dishes. The sale is held in the yard and in one of the two gray double-wide trailers with red trim.
