UNLV's department of nursing will hold an informational meeting via teleconference April 1 at 4 p.m. for registered nurses in Elko, Ely, Winnemucca, Pahrump, and Hawthorne who are interested in participating in the university's 2+BSN program.
The 2+BSN program is designed for registered nurses who have received either an associate degree or diploma in nursing and are interested in going on to pursue a bachelor's degree in nursing.
Course and practicum requirements, prerequisites, and application procedures will be discussed at the meeting. Nursing professor Margaret Louis will run the meeting with the assistance of UNLV's distance education department. The meeting is being broadcast via compressed television, which enables the participants to speak with and view one another by television.
The meeting will be broadcast in the following locations: at Great Basin College in Elko; William Bee Ririe Hospital in Ely; Humboldt General Hospital in Winnemucca; Pahrump Valley High School in Pahrump; and Mt. Grant General Hospital in Hawthorne.
