Vincent Eade, a UNLV associate professor of hotel management, was named the 1998-2000 recipient of the Claudine Williams Distinguished Chair.
"Professor Eade's contributions to the college and university have been superlative during his tenure with us," said David Christianson, dean of the William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration. "The UNLV International Gaming Institute is a result of his leadership and hard work. I am very pleased he has been selected for the Williams Distinguished Chair."
Eade, a member of the UNLV faculty since 1986, was the founding director of the gaming institute from 1993 to 1996 and currently serves as its managing director. He has written more than 10 refereed journal articles and has authored or co-authored more than five books and book chapters, including the book "Introduction to the Casino Entertainment Industry."
Eade teaches courses on the hotel industry, personnel administration, and hotel labor/management relations. He received his bachelor's and master's degrees in education with a emphasis in history from St. Bonaventure University in New York.
The Williams Distinguished Chair is named in honor of Claudine Williams, chairman of the board at Harrah's Las Vegas.
