UNLV is now accepting applications for admission into its 2+BSN nursing program via distance education.
Margaret Louis, nursing professor and distance education coordinator, will be traveling to Ely on July 7 and Elko on July 8-9 to meet with nurses interested in completing a bachelor's degree beginning in fall semester 1998.
The 2+BSN program is designed for registered nurses who have received either an associate degree or diploma in nursing and are interested in going on to pursue a bachelor's degree.
The upper division nursing classes will be offered in a six-semester sequence. After the second year, students will spend three weeks in Las Vegas for a concentrated clinical experience. All other clinical training will be scheduled in each student's home city.Louis will be in the training room at William Bee Ririe Hospital in Ely from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. on July 7. before heading to Elko on July 8-9.
During her first day in Elko, she will meet with prospective students in the Burg Hall conference room at Great Basin College from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m.
The next day, she will meet with students in the computer training room at Elko General Hospital from 7 a.m. until 11 a.m.
