UNLV Nursing continued its surge to the top of U.S. News & World Report’s annual list of the nation’s best online graduate degrees, posting a pair of top ten category rankings in the publication’s latest release.
The School of Nursing’s online master’s programs ranked 10th overall, rising from 15th in 2022. In specialty program rankings, the school’s family nursing practitioner track also ranked 10th, and its nurse educator track finished just outside the top ten at 11th. The School of Nursing, which recently added a master’s program in psychiatric mental health, has ranked within the top 30 each year since U.S. News began rating online nursing programs in 2012.
The nursing rankings are part of the publication's annual Best Online Programs list, which was released today.
"We are proud of this ranking as one measure of our school’s excellence,” said Angela Amar, dean of the UNLV School of Nursing. “This stems from our priority to recruit and retain world class faculty, staff and students coupled with our determination to prepare highly capable clinicians and leaders who will positively impact health and health care in Nevada."
UNLV continues to bolster its online programs campus wide to adapt to increasing demand for hybrid and remote degrees, and U.S. News is taking notice. The university’s online bachelor’s degree in psychology rose more than 20 spots to 20th in 2023, and its undergraduate program in business rose nearly ten places to 32nd in this year’s release. UNLV’s online bachelor’s degree in psychology is designed for students seeking a liberal arts undergraduate degree and those intending to enter advanced training in psychology, education, medicine, or related fields. The Lee Business School offers elements of many of its programs online, including a fully online degree program in entrepreneurship.
UNLV’s overall online bachelor’s programs ranking rose slightly to a tie for 146, and UNLV continues to be a top choice for veterans, ranking 73rd. In other online rankings, UNLV’s master’s program in education ranked 117th.
