The University of Nevada, Las Vegas announced today that its Invent the Future campaign has to date raised more than $345 million in private support, marking the fifth consecutive record-breaking fundraising year for the university.
"As the momentum of the campaign continues to build, donors are investing in new and established programs and pledges are becoming fulfilled," said Nancy Strouse, UNLV Foundation executive director and senior associate vice president for development.
As of June 30, 2007, the Invent the Future campaign has raised $186,992,396 in gift revenue received to date, and $158,221,662 in longer-term gift intentions, for a total of $345,214,058. The goal of the campaign is to raise $500 million by the end of 2008.
"Generous donors are creating endowments and funding research activity, and more students are benefiting from new scholarships and learning opportunities," said campaign co-chair Don Snyder. "We anticipate extraordinary fundraising results this fall as the university kicks off its 50th anniversary celebration."
Fundraising priorities for the Invent the Future campaign include endowments to assist with recruitment and retention of top students and faculty; funds to provide enhanced learning opportunities through scholarships, fellowships and other programs; and funds to develop innovative learning environments through new and renovated facilities and special equipment. The campaign is the largest effort of its type in state history.
