The Angelo Donghia Foundation of New York City has announced that Amanda Hardy, a senior interior architecture student at UNLV, is one of only 10 students nationwide selected to receive the prestigious $30,000 Donghia Foundation Interior Design Scholarship.
Hardy, a senior, was nominated for the award by UNLV School of Architecture faculty members and was required to submit a portfolio of her work. The work was then put before a jury of top professionals from the field of interior design, which ultimately chose the winners.
In order to be eligible for the highly competitive award, students must be nominated by faculty members from a professionally accredited school, meet GPA and portfolio requirements, and be a junior standing.
Hardy is the first UNLV student to win the scholarship, as this is the first year the foundation has opened the competition to West Coast institutions. The scholarship will cover tuition, board and maintenance, books, and required student materials.
The Donghia Foundation, created under the will of the late Angelo Donghia, a prominent New York interior designer, provides support for the advancement of education in the interior design field.
