Approximately 180 local high school students will compete Feb. 6-7 in the 2004 Nevada Regional Science Bowl being hosted by the UNLV College of Sciences and the Nevada site office of the US Department of Energy's National Nuclear Security Administration.
The competition will take place Feb. 6 from 2:30 to 8 p.m. in the Robert L. Bigelow Physics Building on the UNLV campus. On Feb. 7, the competition will be held on the first floor of UNLV's Classroom Building Complex.
During the event, teams of students will be quizzed in the areas of biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, astronomy, earth sciences, and computer science. The winners of the regional competition will win prize money and a chance to compete in the National Science Bowl, which will be held this May in Washington D.C.
