UNLV's department of environmental studies will hold its 15 th annual Earth Day celebration from 9 a.m. to noon April 22 on the academic mall at UNLV.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will include environmental education exhibits from various local organizations, including the Environmental Protection Agency, Southern Nevada Water Authority, Nevada Power, and the City of Las Vegas.
In addition, an awards ceremony honoring outstanding individual contributions to environmental efforts will begin at 11 a.m. in the mall's outdoor amphitheatre and will be emceed by KTNV's Nate Tannenbaum.
More than 1,200 elementary school students from the Clark County School District are expected to attend the day's festivities.
